About the #999 project

This is my personal & lifetime artwork project. It is all about prints, they give life & story to the photographs:

Large prints // One single large print for each photograph is issued. It wears a handwritten #number at the front and is also signed at the back with its certificate of authenticity. You may only see copies as postcards or in books, there are no others. Why?

One of a kind // I believe we appreciate when it is unique. How much do you feel with a guitar replica that looks absolutely identical to the original? If a copy is great, the original feels best. Some photographs are sold by hundreds of copies, I produce only one. This is the original and I believe we feel the most in front of it, knowing it has a story, it has been cared for and will forever be the only one. Whatever happens to it, no re-print.

Numbered // I wondered how many pictures I would make in a life time!? A million at least. I thought it was interesting to set a limited number to have an end to the project. One thousand seemed right to me. They will be numbered from #999 working back to #0. I am starting the project with photos retrieved from my memory, themes series are to come. I will save the #0 for the very last shot of my life.

I am not quite sure about this ... but I had to start somewhere. So, this is my commitment and what my #999 project is about: 999 one of a kind large print photographs in a lifetime.
